Yes
While not strictly a canal, the New River Ancholme is near enough dead straight like many man made canals are. Emptying out behind a set of locks into the River Humber at South Ferriby, this river was dug along side the original River Ancholme to aid navigation in this area of Lincolnshire.

This is one of the few single track mainly farm crossings over the river. This bridge is the Hibaldstow Bridge built in 1889.

Good info with the shot which I always enjoy.

Well lit and interesting composition however the oof area in the foreground detracts from this shot for me.

Well blow me down!

As a lad I fished right next to that bridge many a time with my dad; once catching 101 fish in a 5 hour stint. That was one Dace (tiny) and 100 Gudgeon (tinier).

When we emptied my net at the end of the day there were only 30-ish fish in it, they were so small they'd swam through the net, making us wonder if we'd caught the same fish several times!

I grew up in Immingham BTW

Cheers for that memory trip

Nice shot - prefer it all in focus rather than OOF. Did you blur it in PS/PSP or take a number of shots?
