Canon 1200d and the night skies ?

Thinking of getting a camera modified for night photography, as I will be using both my telescope and my normal L series Canon lenses, the 1200d was suggested to me.

Anyone give me feedback on which Canon camera would be best suited - I know I can get a 1200d new and modded for around £300 so planning to use that as my budget figure

I dont see why it wouldn't work. Obviously if youre going to shoot at high ISO then its going to suffer against the FF bodies but stacking will reduce the noise to acceptable levels. Have been thinking about getting something like this myself in fact so would be interested in anyone who has used one for this.

My main camera is a 5d3, which is too heavy for my scope setup and my portable tracker hence seeking a lighter camera.

They remove/replace the filters in front of the sensor to allow different/more wavelengths of light to be recorded by the sensor.
