Canon MPE65 error

With my Cannon I sometimes get "Canon EOS Error 01 (Err01) – ". If I clean it, it normally goes away but always come back, sometimes very quickly. I did put Caig DeoxIT Gold Contact Cleaning Fluid on the connections but no good. Any ideas?

Not had that - get very occasional error when not quite locked on properly. But never comes back on quick.

Maybe Lens needs a service ? Have you tried on a different camera body to check it is not the camera ?

I have tried it on a different body and I do get it there. Apparently it is common flaw

I'd contact Canon. Is it new or under warranty ? My MPE is several years old and fortunately still going strong despite my continual use of it.

2 years old and it was second hand. Out of interest why canon as opposed to going to Jessops or Fixnation?

I just always use approved. No other reason.
