Hi all.

I'm new to macro. Here is my first insect shot.

ISO200, 1/100, f/10, 65mm

Thanks for looking. Any comments welcome! :)

That's a fabulous shot. The green on black works so well the crisp edge of the leaf is just great.

That is a super first shot ... (y) ... you should be well pleased with that one ... :D

Great colour too ... :D

What end is that we are looking at ... :cautious:

:p

Thanks everyone for the comments.

@venomator - this is the front end. The mouth parts are just out of sight at the bottom.

Also tried my first focus stack with this tubby little fella.

Missed some areas but I do like the sharpness it has added. I'll definitely work on this technique. Haven't bothered to tidy it up at all - left the stripey top edge in. Will keep this shot as a momento on my flickr! :)

Cheers!

I don't like the stacked version as much visually but it's very impressive work. There are certainly times I could see it opening doors that only a large format camera could really do otherwise. (y)

Thats a good stack shot. Well done.

EG: its when you take several shots (same fno) at different points of focus and then using some clever software, or PShop with faffing, you overlay them and get a much greater depth of field.

nice shot i like the stacking shot best

looks sharp and a cracking dof will try this myself one day well done
