If you are into architecture/steam engines google Papplewick Pumping Station its about 10 miles away down the A614 towards Nottm and is a wonderfully preserved victorian pumping station,I think its open at weekends.
The Major Oak is on your doorstep at Edwinstowe, Rufford abbey is just down the road as is Clumber Park,Thorsby Hall and courtyard is well worth a look again just down the road

The problem with Center Parcs is they are designed to keep you in the site and because you pay so much to stay there, you want to make use of the facilities.
Don't think there's much in the park itself but venture out and you have plenty of nice places.
Rufford Park and Clumber Park come to mind. But I am sure there are more.
