Otherwise known as The Hawksbill Turtle. Came across this rather chilled specimen whilst diving off the Ningaloo reef near Exmouth in WA.
Beautiful creatures the are.
Taken with an Olympus OMD Em5ii, 60mm f/2.8macro lens, Nauticam housing and a sea and sea YS-01 strobe.
1/250, f/6.5, ISO 200

Good takes, Will, great DR…
but why in monochrome?

Thanks. I like monochrome. I find it aesthetically pleasing. I like the way it brings out the textures, or focuses the viewer on the textures, patterns and play between dark and light tones.

I like monochrome

Legitimate!

I like as well to see the tonal shades of these
magnificent creatures… but ok, beautiful anyways!

On reflection and a look online it turns out this is not a Hawksbill after all but a Green Turtle - Chelonia mydas
