Chicksands bike park - a real struggle

Good morning all,

I had another trip to Chicksands bike park, close to Bedford, on Saturday.

I picked up a D4 to try out and was using my new to me, 70-200 fl, 14 2.8 and 10.5 2.8. Honestly, I really struggled. I used to shoot a lot of sport with Nikon pro bodies, and was really, really happy using the D3/D3s etc. etc however, I really struggled with the D4, compared to my outing with the 1dxii.

I am planning on trying a D5 next week at the bike park - they have an air bag that weekend - and run it side-by-side with the 1dxii and see what's what.

In any case, here's a few images from the day.

Another good set Chris. Out of interest were you laying on your back for some of these or just off to one side?

Think I last rode at Chicksands almost 20 years ago.

@Lez325 Thanks for that. I did have a peek on Flickr but thought there might have been an off camera flash I don't think that show's in the exif data.
Not sure on that front.

Like you say they are great images.

I've often thought about having a crack at these type of shots. We have a track not far from us, at Woburn Sands, and it seems popular.
The only question I have though is how photographers are received? Obviously I'd ask if they'd mind me shooting them.
Do you see many other "togs" there?
