These were captured on Christmas Eve in our garden using a Panasonic G9 and Olympus 60mm macro to capture 6K post focus videos from which I used Helicon Focus to extract JPEGs to stack, finishing off the images in Lightroom. The descriptions below indicate the processing done in Helicon Focus.

There are 1400 pixel high versions in this album at Flickr.

#1 Stack of 27 frames, f/2.8, 1/125 sec, ISO 800, Single stack retouched from one or more source images.

Thanks Graham. It was all done yesterday. To my surprise it didn't take all that long. I did it in bits and pieces between the other stuff going on so I don't really know how long it took altogether. I think I'm getting faster at the processing the more of these I do, having a better idea what methods and parameters are most likely to work. Perhaps I'm also getting better at picking subjects which are less likely to be problematic, and quicker to abandon the ones that do turn out to be difficult to process. For the ones that are fairly straightforward it can be quite quick.

You really seem to have this stacking process worked out now Nick. Nice images.

Thanks Andrew. I'm getting more comfortable with stacking of late - the processing doesn't seem to be as much of a struggle (or as annoying and demotivating) as it was previously. That has taken a while. Now I need to develop a balanced approach where I mix single shots and stacking; I'm concentrating almost exclusively on stacking at the moment and that is not good.
