Rare anywhere: if only because they were terrible rust buckets. In the late 1960s there was one that was often parked near a friend's place in North London. It became something of a running joke for us to "measure" the progress of the rust up the wings.Hi, rare here

Mechanically, they're pretty simple - Ford V8 in front of a Ford gearbox but, as you say, they rusted badly (or well [from a tinworm's PoV!!!]). There are a few Alpine specialist suppliers here but I can't imagine that body panels are cheap since it appears that they are made to order or in small batches.
Here's an oddity spotted in Exmouth. I think it just about qualifies as a car with an oversized boot.
