Well,

2 years on, and a revisit to the Nook was called for, now after last time and Cobra cleaning his sensor in the sink mrgubby and myself thought he would have learned, Cobra got his lens dirty playing in the sand, and with a lack of lens cleaning kit we suggest the sink again (not thinking he would), but Cobra being Cobra...... Well :)

Great suggestion Stu
It works a lot better now (y)

(the motor squeaks a bit but I'll just run some WD40 down there later )

LOL, that's amazing, how is the weather sealing holding up? Last one looks like a crazy tongue hanging out the side ;)

Canon build them well ;)

No Probs, let me know how that goes :D

Is this for real? :)

 :naughty:

Would I lie to you Robily?
In fact how does the saying go? the camera never lies ;)

:D

[S2]You would[/S2]

Ah, what an easy solution, I'll have to remember that thanks.(y)

LOL

 brilliant Chris!

:D

If he bought a nikon he wouldn't have a problem, they don't let the muck in :D

2 years on and I'm just amazed that the place still hasn't installed a dishwasher :shake:
I thought I told you last time that's the only proper way to get your lenses sparkly clean.

Why have a dishwasher when you can get a Chris for free

Yep as easy as dropping a 2 grand lens into a bowl of fairy liquid (y)

Lets hope my post isn't taken seriously and people get upset and just have to move to Nikon. ...I have a cunning plan...whooohaaa!

Lowering gently surely... But yeah, and its good for you hands! :D

He may be free, but is he actually any good at it?

I've not had any complaints so far (y)

After seeing how he takes care of his lenses . . . errrrrrm NO :D

Well what ever you do, don't look at the hyper linked thread about sensor cleaning, from a couple of years ago then :D

seems a most reasonable way to tackle a dirty lens. I just now cleaned my sensor with a toothbrush and some Mr Sheen. Works a treat!

Did you not see THIS?
Its just a matter of running the sensor under a tap and bung it in the microwave to dry.
Far less invasive (y)

Isn't that the standard Norfolk way of cleaning ones "Gentlemans Area" ????

:p

I tried to repeat your experience and was very surprised - it works!
Thank you my friend, since now I will always do like that;)

Hi Oleg
Long time no hear

I'm glad that my little tip works well (y)

The main thing yo have missed Oleg is Chris turning to the dark side, hint, green for mean............

Not all that mean surely, Rick ? :p :D

You should really wear 'Marigolds' when doing the washing up. The hot water will ruin your hands !

Have you not heard the ads that say that "mild green fairy" keeps your hands
soft as your face? :D
