No
No false promises or statements of intent, as they always go by the wayside within a few weeks.

Tell me is something eluding you sunshine
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes
You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise

;)

What the hell ..
Week 0 nearby...
A six stack of a Siberian Elm about 15" tall all the way from ...... my back garden.
I don't normally "do" B&W but I thought the stark processing summed up the winter so far.

Stark and not in a Game of Thrones way.

Like it lots. Nothing to detract from the form.

It could be as high as 15 feet if you hadn't given it already.

Good job.

Well, Mr "I'm not sure if I'm doing it this year..." :exit:
That's a great image. I'm seeing (rein)deer with antlers and a tree, so the image is more than the image.
Only thing I would have tried is to add a fake reflection underneath as it's a bit floaty.

I see Groot starring in strictly. Very nice
BUGGER! so do I now! Thanks Jim :p

We're not at week one yet Tim :p

Fair point, Thanks for the comments Tim (y)

High contrast B&W is very eyecatching. Nice!

Very contrasty image, a bit floaty as has been mentioned but I do like a bonsai

Nice start and yes - a bit floaty. I like it!

Maybe this is what is known as, an air plant then?

:D

Fantastic stark image, really suits the mono PP, nicely lit too.

Loving this one. Great contrast and a really punchy image. Its a perfect mini representation of those stark winter trees

:)
B&W starkness, I like.

I thought there was some dodgy cloning at the bottom, but of course, it's in a pot!

Hey boss, The smilies are not going where I put them wtf

Indeed they don't need much but they do need some growing medium :D

No idea on that one, sorry :(
They are working for me

as others have said already very stark the b/w suits it

I must admit it turned out better than expected (y)

I really like the lighting on that!
Thanks Nick. (y)
Nothing special, halogen down lighters on the ceiling, set on low.
And a defused flash on camera.

Nics start Chris. The lighting and processing really show off the shape of that lovely tree.

It will be getting some minor alterations to the branch structure this year, but only minor

It didn't age (artificially) as fast as I thought it might with extremes of heat and cold.......
I'll try and Or-range some thing better next time

One from the Archive ...
We all know the saying, Time fly's like an arrow ....
But Fruit flies like a melon.
Drosophila melanogaster less than 3mm long ( Puking on a piece of melon)
These are the dust like creatures you see in the summer hanging around your fruit bowl ....

They're colourful Chris and the second is an impressive close-up.

I must remember not to leave my melons out!

Fruit
I like the textures and colours of the first shot, I think I might have cropped in a little more to remove the corners.
Good close up of the fruit fly.

Got to say that nature macro stuff is just fascinating to me. I'd never do it myself but I love looking at competently done macro work. And that second one looks competent enough to me :)

Thanks Dom, and TBH I was in two minds ( both of them are mine :D )
I was torn between a tighter crop and leaving a little peel in. I went for the peel as I thought it was slightly more appealng?

:coat:

Thanks Ian, that is appreciated (y)

Nearby - with not being a fan of B&W images.......... I think you have excelled yourself with this one I rather like it and it does sum up how the start of the year looks and feels.
Fruit - Hmm not to sure what I think for the first image, however I do like the detail in the Fruit Fly even if the colour of its eyes is slightly weirding me out at the moment.
