Common Lizard, with some unwelcome guests!

I photographed this Common Lizard at Howe Ridding Woods, in Cumbria, on Monday. It wasn't until I looked at the photos on my PC that I saw all the ticks behind his front legs. I counted at least 13 visible!
This is a superb area, but one of the worst I know for ticks. This time I was lucky to to pick any up, but after past visits I've had several attached to me!

Cheers,

Dave

This one did! But I waited a short while and he came back to his basking spot.

You probably know already, but do be aware of the possibility of contracting Lyme disease from ticks. https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/lyme-disease-guidance-data-and-analysis

I know about Lyme disease, but this is still good advice and a useful link. Thanks!
