Can anyone please confirm current the best current access is to park near Covehithe church and looked for a footpath towards the beach. My Internet research shows posts that are a few years old and given the way the coast erodes up to date advice would be appreciated please

I haven't been for a few years myself and I appreciate the erosion is pretty powerful.
However, I wouldn't worry too much because there are a few spaces you can stop before the church and then walk along the lane and turn left to follow the coastal path. When it disappears just detour to the left, at the worst bit when I was there last there is a big field so plenty of space to avoid the erosion.

you can also walk back down the lane from the church and take the path that heads south to the beach
