B&W Covent Garden - appreciate critique of photography and PP

Further to my thread last week here is a set of the Covent Garden pics. I would appreciate any critique of both the photography (composition, exposure etc) and the PP conversion to mono.

Crops are a little tight for me.

Agreed, I'd like a bit more room too in some of them, 2 is my favourite but more room above his head would be good. Maybe read up on 'negative space' :)

Also, I love B&W shots and some of these work really well, especially where the metallic jackets have a strong contrast against the background. Where this isn't there the images are a bit flat, perhaps some of them would work well in colour, if that provides depth.

So, B&W is good for giving an image depth through contrast when colours are similar (assuming there is contrast). Colour shots are good for providing depth/differentiation if they are of a similar brightness (assuming there are contrasting colours).
