Portrait of a friendly resting cranefly. It's modified back wing the Haltere shows up well in the second image. It's the thing that looks like a drum stick bottom right.;)
 
Stop it now... I'm gonna be selling my macro lens! ;)
 
Wonder if the director of Alien had a raynox lens....would explain where he got some of his ideas from.

The clarity and detail in these are amazing even by your standards, especially around the mouthparts.

Yes LB that's its mouth parts in full, they eat pollen.:D
