Crested Tit

Can I ask how these sort of photos are achieved? I'm assuming a lens that can zoom in from a distance so as not to disturb the bird, and setting the aperture to control the focus?

I really love these shots, and would love to know how to capture ones like it for myself.

Thankyou for your compliments, you’re very kind. I’m no expert at all, but I use a 75-300mm lens, good lighting and a nice fast shutter speed as the little birds move quickly! Single point focus helps too.

But, that said...far and away the most important thing is good fieldcraft and respect for the animals you’re photographing :)
