Cuba, and Havana in particular, is an amazing place. Such great culture, really friendly people, wonderful architecture and amazing cars. I can whole heartedly recommend Cuba as a place to visit.

Sorry for the number of pics (there’s many more still on flickr) but it’s just such a fabulous place you can’t help take photos, and if you’re a petrol head like me it’s heaven with all the wonderful classic America cars.

Havana.

Great images, looks a cool place alright, love the cars! It's got a real 70's San Francisco type vibe going on

Proper photo essay. Good series. For me, although it doesn’t scream Cuba or indeed anywhere in particular the one for me is 35. That white sand and blue sky and deep blue sea. Drool.
Thanks. Interesting how we all see things differently, 1 and 4 scream Cuba to me. This is how I pictured Cuba before going and was extremely pleased it didn't disappoint (y)

Thanks, definitely a cool place. Interesting fact about the cars (for me at least) is that the newest of the American cars is 1961, no more were imported after then due to the embargo.

The certainly kept them in good nick!

I think SFT meant the image he likes doesn't scream Cuba, not the whole set ;) As it very obviously does.

Yep. It’s funny how we all read and interpret things. My apologies to the OP for my wording of my post. I really like image 35 - although it itself doesn’t scream Cuba like the others. The feeling, composition and colour palate are to die for.

Lol, I'm still jet lagged so excuse my numptiness ;) That part of the black certainly was to die for, definitely had the wow factor (y)

Some were stunning, others were falling apart. It all led to the charm though imo.

Lol, as above I'm blaming it on jet lag ;)

Really enjoyed these. Number 4 is fantastic.
Thanks very much. It's very rare that I like my own pictures but I have to say I'm pretty chuffed with 4 tbh :)

Lovely set of images. Brings back so many memories of my amazing holiday there about 10 years ago.

Everything about the place is just vibrant, interesting and fun

Thanks for sharing

Love those, especially the Kodachrome effect, and even if it reminds me I've not done anything with the ones I took in Cuba last year.

some lovely shots but the colours seem a bit muted ?
so the pictures don't seem to pop like they should
Thanks, the processing is a tweaked film preset on most hence the muted colours and reduced blacks.

Super somewhere ive always wanted to go

Number 4 and 7 for me. It really looks a good place to visit. I really enjoyed looking at them. Will be showing Ian later as I know he would like them also. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for all the positive feedback folks, appreciate it.

@Bebop not all, didn’t take the 40-150mm f4-5.6 R.

Really loved looking through this thread and very inspiring to want to holiday there

Stunning images. Makes me so sad to think that when I went to Cuba many years ago, I didn’t take anything other than a cheapo point and shoot, mobile phones didn’t take photos, and I wasn’t really into photography. I’d love to go back now.
I know the feeling. In the early 90s I went to Australia for a year and didn't take my film SLR because I thought it was too bulky!! And they are so small compared to modern DSLRs. Don't know what I was thinking!!!!

20, 30, 31 and 35 are all fab but 20 is the one that stands out for me, really like the Havana beer bottles (I think they are Beer) and the PP if any helps.
I`m off to Hawaii (o`ahu) in 5 weeks, I can`t wait :D

That's why I like the Olympus system so much, great IQ without the bulk of DSLR (y)

Thanks. Beer??????? How very dare you, it's some of Cuba's best rum ;)

Great set Snerks. One of my wanna go places before I die! Really look to have captured the essence of the place.
