In England they are but in American and apparently Australia it is the spider. Confused the heck out of me when I first moved to England.

You took a nice pic there.
In the UK a spider much like that one is called 'The Harvester'. Smallish round body, about 5mm across. Very long, almost invisible legs and of course no wings... I'm not a 'nexpert' though.

Like the photo and composition/style is very good ... ... but would have preferred the b/g to be more uniform as it distracts a little imgo ... :shrug:
