Since I know you shoot JPGs, you may not be able to
retrieve the lower keys, reduce contrast and saturation
as these are saved in the image,
 
Yes Kodiak what you say is true. I know her hair has gone all black but for me it sort of suits the image and I didn't try to make any adjustments in Photoshop. Not intending to excuse my lack of PP expertise though.
 
Not for me. You've lost too much of her eyes, skin colour is a bit too 'Donald Trump' and the loss of detail in the hair doesn't help. The lipstick has also worn away, and needed retouching for such a bold colour.

I hope that's useful, rather than just saying I don't like it.
 
I think your light is too low. I'm drawn more to her cheeks and not the eyes. For me, it's the eyes you want to draw you in.
