There lies an old statue beheaded and broken...in the forbidden, darkened wood. Where light radiates from unknown depths and purpose...

Welcome to TP

The whole idea is cool! Great tones in here.

The only things are the hot spots in the FG
and the one in the statue's eye specially!

Thank you for your kind words Kodiak. The eye is actually supposed to be emitting light from within and slightly illuminating the foreground :)

Fine!

Then, in this case, since the light is coming
from behind the FG, is it logical to see any
kind of specularity there???

Because of the said specularity, the effect of
the emitting eye is diluted, almost gone.

I really like the story, and what you've done totally works for me... And Kodiak, for the love of god, forget where the light should or shouldn't come from, just feel the moment!

I think that's the problem: there are too many sources of light - and it's effects.

IMHO, less is more.

... but good attempt :)

Hmmm, I dont know if this will help with the light debate, but the light was actually radiating from a flashlight sitting on the ground where the head was, then the two layers were stacked and masked where so the light could show through the head layer, the light is not PS.
The only PS is background, wolf and color treatment :)

The point here is not how it was made but how
it communicates the story, the mood.

Mine is only an opinion —as asked, there maybe
many of course. The final point is that it is your
work and, ultimately, you are telling the story.
