dave, cool bike btw, but do you focus ON the bird or try to get just before the bird as i imagine you are some distance from the subject so the dof would be quite great at eg f8 @ 500mm?

Today I tried ISO 6400 just to test again, I had to get a shot with the bird in the tree as the iso was too low with the bird on the fence. I am now glad that I can stop testing high ISO as I will not push it this high again, as 6400 is right on the limit I think for the Canon 70D.
