If anyone has gone outdoors today you'll know how windy and cold it is. I went into the garden to put the food scraps into the recycle bin in a shirt and cardigan when I spotted this springtail. Took some pics, but it was too cold and windy to hold the camera steadily, so not not quite where I would like the focus to be, but they'll do for now...

Paul.

Pretty isn’t it? If it was a bit (actually a lot) bigger people would want them as pets ㋡.

I can't get over the colouring / shading.
As I said on another thread they just don't look real. :)

"With these shots, you are spoiling us!" (Well, your sig does say you're an ambassador!)

Stunning detail in them.

Thank you Nod - and yes, LAOWA are very generous to let me use their glass.

Paul.

They are all called Bob in our house in fact I go out to look for Bob

Nice shot, and they're kinda cute. Do they bite?

They only bite leaf litter and such. Being 2mm in size kinda restricts their options, lol..
I see. I was just curious if they were anything like bedbugs, which only grow to 4-5 mm. Thanks for the info and the cool pics.
