The five British Railways Waggon und Maschinenbau railbuses were delivered in April 1958, based at Cambridge until 1964. They were withdrawn in 1966 and 1967.

Nice photos Geoff, am I right in thinking this has been undergoing maintenance the last couple of years or so?

Thanks Rich.

According to The Railcar Association website it was out of service between March 2018 and November 2019 for repairs to the floor which had rotted away under the sliding passenger doorways.

The KVWR had a second one of these railbuses E79962 which is now owned by Vintage Carriages Trust at Ingrow and is undergoing a full restoration.

This made me do some research into railcars and I discovered https://www.railcar.co.uk/ - I hadn't realised so many railcar types existed. In fact the only one I knew about before this posting was the "Park Royal" railbus and that only because I built the Airfix kit of it (probably around 1962).

Good one Geoff! :ty:
