Dipper on a fence

Great shots it does seem strange to see one not on a rock, but the spot I go they often sit on top of a drainage pipe just above the water line.

Yes Den it was taken at the end of April last year, the bird was in direct sunlight thus the whiter than white chest which amazingly wasn't blown when I edited the image
 
I really like them and lovely eye detail not something we see everyday on here " a dipper on a post " :)

The quality of that light has something magic! …almost like moon light:
very harsh, sharp falloff, and deadly directional… beautiful, really!
…did I forget to mention the rendition? You nailed it!
So far for the photograph!

Now, the bird:
I like the little fellow cause it seems to feed on nasty mosquitoes!

Just realised this is kind of an old thread but since it's been revived...

I love the rendition of the shadows and highlights on the breast feathers! The water droplets on their really look magical as Kodiak said. Great photos! Lucky little fly sitting further along the fence who didn't get eaten haha (at least not in that moment anyway!)
