Dog Appreciation Thread, post your fave dog shots here...

Love that pic Matt :D

Little pic from me, took a few of my friend's dog Stanley while I was over there taking pics of her little girl - dog portrait was easier, her daughter would not sit still for longer than 2 seconds!

I do get a lot of pleasure from photographing dogs, but am struggling to nail the shot reliably with my present set up-XPro1 and 55-200. My research and wallet seem to be dragging me towards a D750 and 70-200 f4 [for lightness, post triple bypass] I am not used to ff and it would be an expensive leap, so I am trying to find out if the AF is able to cope with dogs running towards me, like in the last shot. Any help might just keep me sane.

Well I think you've done a great job with these. Whenever I am out with the dog I use my Dslr, as I miss far too many shots with the Fuji due to focus speed.
I also have an X-pro 1 which I bought for when I'm out walking, holidays etc. the focussing when compared to my D700 is woefully slow. The D750 would be a stellar leap in focus capability.

Martin, Bisley looks like a wonderful dog beautifully photographed; you must have happy memories of places walked and balls fetched.
Nigel

Thank you. His successor is more of a problem in that he likes to kill small things given the chance. He is a sprollie (springer/collie cross) and is completely the opposite to Bisley. When I can get him to look at the camera, I'll take some pictures but that may be some time yet.

will have to excuse the ones with the logo and quality on, they were from our facebook page as we covered it for an event.

There should be a law against it :p

A friend of mine put a red & white Xmas jumper on her (White) Bichon x
Then took a picture of it on a red and white rug.
It really was play "Spot the dog" :D
