Dolly, vignetting or hardly any vignetting?

When does an image begs for vignetting? The first image has got just a bit, the other a lot more vignetting. Is there a rule, is it just taste and when is it too much?
I like the second image for its mood, but maybe it's a bit over the top.
Anyway, I think Dolly is a very sensual looking girl and I felt very honoured when she invited me for a private session. Btw, she gave permission for posting only just one image.

I do not care for the 45 degee hard corner look. I much prefer vignetting to be graded as an oval or circular with no start or end point.
I would always use a soft burn tool and build it up gradually.

I only use it when there are already shadowy corners ... but I very rarely use it.
