Dotted Bee fly - Bombylius discolor

A different Bee Fly to the Dark edged type, the Dotted Bee Fly is very similar apart from the wing pattern. Spotted while out walking the dog and snapped with the Panny FZ1000.

There's a lot about at the moment but i haven't seen this species. Good find.

Yes Andy, my garden has lots of bee flies at the moment and l've spotted 2 of the 4 UK species.

I find that if you keep them flying they seem to tire quite quickly and need to land, giving an opportunity to get closer.
