Dragonfly

Hi Glenn, It's a male Broad-bodied Chaser.

Nicely positioned in the frame. The colour balance looks off being on the blue side. If you shot in RAW you should be able to correct it easily. Even if it's a jpg, an adjustment in PP is possible.

Good catch but it needs some sharpening. If you have Photoshop, go into filter/sharpen/unsharp mask. Then set radius to 1.0 and amount to about 150. These settings will vary according to your image as to how much to apply and at what radius but with a quick play with a copy I found it could take quite a bit without too much noise or nasty artefacts. Apply the amount gradually and watch the wings as you do it as they'll show up halos along the wing filaments first. Pull the amount back a little when that happens. The trick with sharpening is to apply *just* enough without overdoing it.
I also agree on the slight bluish tint. Use the colour balance tool and push the cyan slider a little towards the red to correct it.
