These were captured in June 2015 using my FZ200, Raynox 150 and Metz 58-AF2 flash with one of many diffusion arrangements I was testing at the time. I have just processed these from my backlog, using DXO Optics Pro and Silkypix in batch mode with image-specific adjustments in Lightroom.

5 And 6 are the picks for me Nick, always great shots from you though.

5 and 6 are my favourite, but they are all superb.

#4 to #6 are fantastic - I'd be well pleased with those!

Is the FZ200 a panasonic bridge camera? I started out with an FZ8 and a couple of raynox lenses many moons ago and I loved it as a macro set up.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

Stunning work nick
Nuce work as ever Nick.
Top Drawer photography, Nick... love the colours.
#6 looks like it is ready for a spot of fisticuffs:D
:)

Yes, the FZ200 is indeed a Panasonic bridge camera (1/2.3" sensor). I now have the more recent FZ330 (same lens and quite possibly the same sensor, Panasonic have never made that clear.)

I'm still using and comparing various combinations of kit, as described in the thread that Alf kindly linked to. I still have the APS-C 70D but the micro four thirds G3 was replaced by a G5 and I recently bought a G80. With the G80 I also bought a 60mm macro lens. I'm currently testing whether to switch from the 70D to the G80 (or possibly G5) as my primary camera for botanical work, and whether/when to use the 60mm macro for flowers etc. And when the invertebrates appear I'll be testing whether to switch from the FZ330 to the G80 or G5 as my primary camera for insects, spiders, snails etc, and whether the 60mm macro will have any role for invertebrates.

The way it is going at the moment I suspect I will be mainly continuing to use achromats on zoom lenses rather than macro lenses for single shots whichever cameras I decide to use most. The 60mm macro lens, if it gets used at all (I have a Sigma 105mm macro for the 70D that I don't use), is most likely to be used for focus stacking with the G80, especially botanical stacks (this sort of thing).

Ha, you got me thinking, I have a bridge camera, a Fujifilm s8100, maybe I'll give it a spin later in the year [emoji3]

Always worth a try to see what different kit will give you. Do bear in mind that I use flash for shots like these, and the diffusion is of course quite important. And I see that the s8100 doesn't have a hot shoe. Mind you, looking at what Mark Berkery does with camera flash (until quite recently on a bridge camera much of the time) that needn't be too much of a problem.

With the very strong sun here I doubt it will matter if I don't use flash.
