Hi all. A large tree was felled near Durham earlier this year, and the gap this created has revealed a vista that has been hidden for a lot of years. I took a walk along to check it out, but the scene is spoiled by scaffolding on a church tower, behind Old Elvet opposite the Dun Cow. Also the light wasn't too good, but I took a snap anyway to make the effort worthwhile and will go back when the scaffolding is down (and take a tripod next time!) Here you go.....

Nicely framed, will be a good opportunity when the scaffolding is down. :)

Classic shot. Maybe a bit off the bottom and a bit off the right hand side so that the tree trunk is part of the frame.

Lovely though.

Thanks for the replies gents, and I agree re cropping and framing, I'll address these issues on another visit. Mike, I'll PM you later with directions to the viewpoint.

Lovely shot, the tree makes a really nice frame.(y)
