There seems to be a lot of 'film' imitation software around these days.
If you like that look, then DXO isn't a bad example and I do use it occasionally, but its a bit like the HDR/tonemapping fad of a couple of years ago. Use it sparingly and it can create some pleasing effects, although if you have the skill, then you can do it yourself in Photoshop anyway. Its just a shortcut.
