WWT Slimbridge have a small collection of Eiderduck, sharing a lake with a number of other captive and wild birds.
The breeding season always gives way to much posturing, chasing and posing by the males, as well as much washing and preening to look their best. :)

Love those males, Roger - my first ever wild sighting was in Northumberland a couple of years ago :)

Russ
On my 1st visit to the Farne Islands a couple of years ago, Russ, I saw quite a few together with youngsters in the harbour at Seahouses ... lovely sight. :)

Nice Roger- I first came across these lovely birds in Seahouses harbour too, small world

Les :)

Was toying with returning this year Les but it's a long slog, so Bempton again in June. :)

Bempton is a good as the Farnes - I didnt like the way you get controlled on the island, very restrictive

Long slog yes, I'm going even further this year with a 10 hour drive to Oban, then 45mins on a ferry then another hour to the rented cottage on MULL

Les :)
