Lovely work as ever Kevin

Very nice indeed Kevin (y)

You are getting some nice moths Kevin. Top notch photos too. What light do you use?

Alby Canon 7d2 With a 100 F2.8 macro lens with mt-24 ex Twin flash not getting many moths compared to other years Only few each time ? Thinking of getting a raynox 250
I used to use that system but with the 7d mk1, it is a great setup but just got to heavy for me hence my change to Olympus and the M4/3 system.
I got loads of Common footman moths last night and not much else, it has been a funny year for moths for some reason.

What a beautiful creature, and a great image of it too.

Are you/how are you diffusing the MT-24 EX?

Are you using the flash more as fill than as the primary light source? (Maybe with a slowish shutter speed to give substance to the background?)

Do you use flash for most of your (excellent) captures that we see here?

(Reason for asking all this - partly because I'm having a torrid time with flash at the moment. Admittedly it is more reflective subjects that are giving me grief, but I'm still very interested in how you are handling flash as your images are always so good.)
