Managed to get this shot a couple of weeks back. It was quite dull but then a gap appeared with a bit of blue sky and hazy sunlight.
Not sure whether to crop an inch or two of the bottom?
Wide aspect ratio here mate, lose a 3rd off the bottom and go for a 16:9 with a big sky. It will convey the flatness and openness of the location much better.
I'll have to be the one dissenting voice here. I much prefer the original crop. The expanse of foreground AND sky emphasise the loneliness and incongruousness of the trees. It's a bold composition. That second crop is just predictable and formulaic: A wide vista so let's do 16:9.... horizon is in the middle so let's put it on a third and remove the foreground because there's nothing of interest in it.... sorry... just camera club advice that isn't really encouraging you to read the image.
