Experimenting with Topaz Texture

I wasn't sure whether to post these here or in the general section, but they are landscape shots. I have been experimenting with Topaz Texture and these are a few I have done. They won't be to everyones taste. I think I am a frustrated painter and these take pictures more in that direction.

These are not bad at all, and as you say more arty than photy. I like the first one quite a bit.

The first one works well. But if you are going to do more of that sort of thing, you could experiment and create and mix the individual effects yourself. Before the preset ones get too samey.

Yes I agree. What I normally do is find a preset close to what I am after and see what effects have been used and then start changing things until I get it how I like it. I tend to do more than one in photoshop and blend them too.

The first one is timeless and lends itself really well to the conversion. It seems to work better with overcast skies.

Have you tried painting using Photoshop with your photos as a base and see where it takes you?
