Once again I tell myself I'll get something better by the time of the next tour.

And once again I didn't get around to it. First off, the support act from last night in Manchester - Dr Feelgood. A good set, I have no historical knowledge of them other than the stuff that Wilko Johnson was doing a few years ago, and the couple of songs I've seen on "... at the BBC", so it doesn't bother me that none of the band members are original now.

And the main act, The Stranglers. As I was in the audience I'm a bit limited on position, and it was a little unfortunate that they'd stuck some spotlights on the edge of the stage just in front of where I was standing. Sometimes they didn't make any difference...

and sometimes they did

Still, I'm mainly there for the gig, and just happen to be able to take my ageing Casio EX-P600 in with me. That's not to suggest I'd necessarily have had better success with a better camera, though I was looking at some of the screens of nearby people taking "snaps" with phones, and they seemed to be great.

Awhile ago now but just found this thread so here goes.

I'd was hoping to post better images in here, having finally got a replacement compact camera (a little Nikon that was floating around the house) to smuggle into gigs, but despite it being much newer than my old Casio Exilim, and smaller, and higher resolution, more focus points etc. etc., I'm not sure it's actually as good as the old Casio.

And second, the main act, The Stranglers. Billed as the "Final Full Tour" when it was first announced back in 2019, the loss of their keyboard player Dave Greenfield in 2020 may have changed that. A great gig, regardless of the photo quality, and in fact it did let me concentrate on enjoying it rather than trying to get as many shots as possible, having seen the quality I was getting.

They've all had a bit of noise reduction, contract alteration and sharpening after resize.
