As soon as your deal is complete and both parties are satisfied, then you may archive your thread.

To do this, open the thread and click the following three things in this order :

Your thread will now be archived.

might be worth adding that you can't open a new thread in the classifieds until the old ones are archived? took me a while to figure that out first time round

You are allowed a maximum of two current 'live' threads in each classifieds forum. A system is in place to prevent any more. Therefore, it's in everyone's best interest if you archive your completed threads after all parties have stated that they are satisfied with the transaction.

Please don't archive them until you have confirmation posted in the thread that the person you've conducted the transaction with is happy with the goods.

Can you move a For Sale Thread? I have one in the Nikon section but I'd like to move it to the Accessories section as the Nikon lens is sold now...

As you have sold it elsewhere, why not archive that one and start a fresh?

Also worth mentioning that you should leave all prices items sell for in the thread, this helps others to guage prices for their own items!
I have noticed a lot recently that delete items AND prices once they have sold!

This is actually stated in the rules,
and if we spot it, the seller is asked to return the "missing items"
Repeat offenders may receive an infraction..
And of course the RTM button is available to all, to bring the transgressors
    to our attention. ;)

Do not remove product details or asking price(s). You may update the thread title or add "Sold", next to items if it is a multi-item sale. This is to aid others in researching prices in the future, and helps both staff and members see the thread history and the deal timeline. Please note, all post edits are recorded and viewable by moderators

What's the process to Archive Classified threads on the new format forum ? - (can't see an Archive Thread Action item in the Thread tools anymore - or any other items actually) :(

Without removing any of the title, just type 'SOLD' at beginning and end of it. There's no archive option at present.

Just add sold to the title and it will auto archive in a few days.
If a passing mod spots it, then they will archive it.
That is assuming feedback has been left of both sides, as feedback can't be left once archived.

So that it ends up looking like my SOLD iPhone thread on page 3 (as well as many others with SOLD in grey block before the title).

Thanks for that - never seen the SOLD option before - and I did look but possibly not on a For Sale Classified :)

...really need one for Wanted Threads as well I guess...

    To Mods,
Is it possible to insert a post asking members to archive classifieds when item is sold. This would keep classifieds a smaller easier to read section, also making it easier for buyers to read adverts.

There are several around and about, but since this thread was posted 3 years ago, there is an auto archive function in place (15 days I think it is)

You have no idea how many RTM's we get saying I can only see ( for example) 25 classified threads, why can't I see the rest?

Well that maybe because there are only "25" threads.

Sorry if the answer to this question is in an obvious location:

When a classifieds sale thread has been archived, how does one go about reactivating it?
