The theme for May is Transport, and as usual how to interpret that is up to you :)

Entries to be posted in this thread by 23.59 on Wednesday 31st May. After that a poll will go up for seven days to vote for the winners.

This thread is for entries only, please keep everything else in the discussion thread here

Clachnaharry Bridge was rebuilt in 1909 for the Highland Railway, replacing the original bridge of 1862. A steel-bowed plate-girder swing bridge 126 ft (37.5m) long across the Caledonian Canal on a 65 degree skew. It carries the line north from Inverness and is hand-operated and protected by railway and canal signals. This is the sealock end of the canal which dates back to 1822 and is navigable by vessels up to 150 ft length and 35 ft wide. The train is pretty much the only modern item in the photo, and was shot with a Nikon FE2 and Poundland Agfa in Feb this year, processed by Filmdev.

Ford Model T Tourer, built on 11 August 1911, serial number around 67000. This belongs to a neighbour who kindly brought it out for a session. The laburnum behind makes a lovely setting, but in the colour shots it was too dominating, so as the car is the star I decided on a black and white shot with a "vintage" treatment.

Congratulations to Martin80, fabulous photo. Well done to all the points scorers this month, great selection of shots.

Another fab month for entries, it is really difficult to pick 5 from such an eclectic and interesting group of shots. Well done to all.

It was a very varied set of entries for this one, so congrats to all in the top 5.

Congrats to the point scorers, and well done to everyone who took part, it was hard to pick just three deserving shots.

Martin's shot was a very deserving winner, a beautifully composed piece of street photography, I thought.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the votes and especially for the kind comments. Another great month of entries I thought that made the voting very tricky. Good luck this month everyone.
