B&W Finally picked up the camera again....

I'd have to say it would be better if she was on the other side of the frame, with the space before her.
I know it's a convention, but...

Agreed! Probably why I dismissed it 5 months ago!!

Liked her smile/sense of fun which is why it caught my eye again.

I have to say like the selfie set a lot. The head crop works for me.
On the second one, breaking a convention works for me again, not a bin it job.
And let's face it, rules are for breaking sometimes are they not?

Very kind of you to say!!

Felt a bit rusty but now getting back into it. I'm hoping to not leave it so long next time. As somebody noticed earlier, have a flick through my Flickr and you get to see (to my eye) an improvement over time. Probably due to critique on here, reading and practice!
 
It's faster to get right back into than you think, eh?!
