First 2 trips with my new DSLR (Venice/Majorca)

Hi Everybody,

My first post so be gentle.

The pictures below are from my first couple of outings with my new toy, and have all been taken without a tripod, just resting on any flat-ish surface.

Very good set of images; the first is not terribly interesting but the rest are excellent. Stand-outs for me are the colours and composition in the canal shot, composition with the fg interest in the harbour shot #4 and the mazing starburst effect of the floodlights in the final image.

Lovely set of images James as Carl has said nothing really interesting in the Firestone shot but the rest I like with the 4th one being my favourite.

I appreciate the feedback. I have now got a hand-me-down tripod, a have got myself a few filters, including an ND filter on the way and I am treating my self to shutter trigger. looking forward to getting some more interesting shots going forward.

Do you need a remote trigger? Can you not just use the camera's self timer?

On my D3300 I cannot find away of setting it up so I don't have to re-set it up every time. Plus I need all gear, so I at least look like I know what I am doing
