First attempt at shooting people....

I was given the opportunity to take some shots of some friends of mine, having never done anything like it before I was terrified.

I've chosen a few to share with you to see what you think (be gentle with me)

They're intimate & charming. Two things..

• make sure you nail focus on the eyes unless you've got a good reason not to
• the b&w conversions are a bit muddy

Thank you for your feed back, quick question....what do you mean by muddy and how would I go about fixing that??

How are you doing your conversions?
By muddy I mean that a lot of the tones are very similar and the images lack contrast. e.g. the white of the collar is actually quite a mid grey.

Right ok, I use lightroom but am incredibly new to it so I just pressed a button on that, I'll go back in to it and see if I can have a play with the tones
