Had a chance to go up to Glan Y Gors in North Wales to watch some karting. I took the camera and 'had a go' from the spectator spots; had to avoid all the 'coaches' giving instructions each lap and all the 'passionate' parents. It was an enjoyable day and welcome any feedback to help improve the shots if I get another chance. The images were taken at either 1/1000th or 1/800th as the only panning experience I have is at the Mach Loop and that's more 'trying to keep up with the incredibly fast jets' than panning :)

Your next step, Ryan, will be to try 1/500~1/250
and get panning practice.

Thanks for the comments guys, will definitely try slower shutter speeds next time. Any tips with the panning?

It is basically based on repetition and muscle memory!

When you spotted the point of capture, start following the
subject quite before that point and some distance after so
to produce a wait level pan more ergonomically.

The chosen focusing method that will work best for you will
do the rest.
