First go at a spider spider

First go at trying to take pictures of insects and was loads of fun! Shame I missed the focus on the eyes in the first pic but fairly happy with them.

Any advice on how to improve welcome.

Try shooting in an axis that allow a greater
area of the subject in focus

2nd photo is good As above, keep working on your shots - try smaller apertures with a little lighting

Thanks Kodiak that's definitely an area I need to experiment with more so I can get a better understanding, problem is the little guys wouldn't stop running about so was hard to get an angle what wasn't his bum!
