Just got a D500 and also just swapped over from Canon

… then facing the task of updating your profile
after the upgrade!

In Canada, to see so many high sticks would not
be cool. I read in you soccer thread that you are
coaching that sport — I was coaching hockey and
my son's took the family flame and passion!

The coaching is good fun but the early winter mornings sometime take the shine of it and it gets a bit of a pain when the only good sunset in weeks is usually on training night. I'm a great believer in putting back into society though and as my son also plays rugby and basketball then I feel I need to give back because the coaches of the other sports help me for free too. I have only watched Ice Hockey at the Olympics so not really much idea what was going on. One thing for sure you can't shoot it the way you do most sports by following the object/ball. It is way too fast, great fun though and a real test of your abilities.

Are you shooting through the perspex there Simon?
I shot a mixture from the stands and also from the perspex. The first two are from behind the perspex and the last two from the stands. If I do it again I will shoot everything behind the perspex as I much prefer the angle. Tricky sport to catch and a great way to get better at sports photography
