Love the spider pic, dont like the wire pic.
Wire pic has perfect DOF, excellet focus and isolation of the central spike.
Spider looks a bit out of focus :( shame, but i still like the pic.

Hey - it looks like the spider is daggling a camera! Perhaps he's out taking snaps of humans? :D.

Nice.

was a little breezy, so fired off a load of shots at the spider and that is the only one that was anywhere near the focus point.

Nice start Chillimonster, wind is a real pain with macro :( I like you barbed wire shot.

Very nice!!! I like both of those a lot, greens and coppers in barbed wire are lovely contrast, spider is great!!!! I'm beginning to really love them little furry creatures!

Nice shots - you've got a great lens there - you'll love it.

Macro is harder than it looks. Don't be put off if you don't get the killer shot straight away - it will get easier.

You seem to be making a very good start. My Sigma 150 seems to perform best at around f11 -f13. Stop down more and dof improves a little but loses sharpness. I normally use flash as available light is just so difficult!
