Beginner First Proper attempt with Flash.

What are you aiming for?

It's difficult to 'judge' the success of an image without knowing the criteria
 
You don't specifically ask for crit and not that I'm any sort of expert so I hope you don't mind but it feels a bit unbalanced given the amount of light on the RHS of your face (camera left) there is not enough shadow on your left

Mainly just a less flat image and learning to balance properly.

This sort of comment is what I need, I've obviously done too much in PP and unbalanced it.
I have never used flash other than heavily diffused for macro.
I think I need to learn how to control the light more.

The light on camera left was almost 45 degrees behind me and probably too close or set too high. The other light was to the right and behind the camera but aimed for bounce off the ceiling.

I admit I am lost. Would you care to show the photograph before you did any processing to it? (Or the jpg which may have come straight from the camera).
