First signs of autumn

Autumn here in NW Scotland is just a little way off. There were some great days in the summer and the last week or so has been very mild but I noticed this rowan with colours well advanced.

But that heralds spring time and if we didnt have winter we wouldnt appreciate it.

You are of course correct and winter does give some lovely photo opportunities ... albeit freezing and over-dressed sitting in the hide!

Autumn does lead to winter but, as noted by Matt, it heralds Spring.

I love the change in the position of the rising and setting sun during the year. I really like the light very early in the morning and late in the evening in summer but would not like the idea of a day length that hardly varied during the year. The colours in autumn, the new growth in the spring and the migrating birds in both seasons are just great. Wouldn't change it for the world.

It's after the winter months and you see the first buds coming out I like.
I like it right through to the end of Autumn
