These were captured in our garden two weeks ago and are from a set of images that I have been using to experiment on with alternative processing. They were captured hand-held with an EF-mount Laowa 100 2X macro on a Kenko EF 2X teleconverter on a Sigma MC-11 EF to E mount adapter on an Sony A7ii, with a Yongnuo YN 24 twin flash with flash heads mounted on the front of the Laowa lens, using one of the several types of diffuser that I was testing, these using two layers of vellum/parchment paper.

The raw files were processed, in this order, with presets in Silkypix Developer Pro 10 (first use) and DXO PhotoLab 3, with image-specific adjustments in Lightroom, followed by the AI Clear method of Topaz DeNoise AI using minimum settings.

There are 1300 pixel high versions of these images in this album at Flickr.

Yes, all my images are prepared for best viewing (unresized, on a calibrated screen, in subdued light) with the 1300 pixel high versions.

In fact its a tad scary :D

Thanks Les. When I started using flash for insects etc (that was quite a long time ago now)I found it made a big difference. Some things became possible that were impossible (for me at least) with natural light. I still prefer natural light for flowers though.
