Hi all,

Saw this on Springwatch and it reminded me to post. We had it about a month ago bordering a lot of the farmers ploughed fields. They were fantastic for bees but neither of us knew what they were.

Hopefully someone can enlighten me?

Thanks,
Wez

Looks like a Phacelia tanacetifolia or a species of. Original from America, but now growing in this country, can be found in waste ground, roadside verges and wildflower Meadows.

Thank you, certainly seems like it is :)

I take it the farmer must've put them in on purpose, as it attracts thousands of bees?

Borage & comfrey are used as a green fertilizer, so farmer may have planted for that reason, but also great for bees so great at helping re pollinating crops.
