A nice coloured fly and for a real first go with this lens things are looking promising.
Just a suggestion though.
Lower your ISO to base (100) and SS to 1/250 and maybe f10/11 would work better.
It looks like you used a flash ? If yes this will help.

cheers graham , this was taken late afternoon on a overcast day on a shady fence . I think I have auto iso on to . but I have taken on board your comments
